Grob G180 SPn is an administrative type aircraft produced by the German aircraft manufacturer "Grob Aircraft" since 2006.

The maximum distance the plane can fly is 3,425 kilometers, which fully meets the requirements, but experts point out that the cost of the aircraft remains very high, which in turn may be a reason for the low demand for the aircraft. Grob G180 SPn.

The aircraft is unpretentious about the size and quality of the runway. The use of modern lightweight materials for the hull and solid landing gear allows takeoff from a runway of about 900 meters.
Also one of the differences is the increased capacity of fuel tanks due to their placement in the wings. This design allows for a greater flight range as compared to its "peers".

Grob in Business Aviation

This German aircraft company was founded in 1971. At the initial stage, it was engaged in the production of small gliders. After the successful launch, as well as the high popularity of gliders produced under the Grob brand, the management of the organisation decided to occupy other types of the aviation market, after which they started to work on the creation of small training aircraft in the design bureau of the company. Due to the fact that these aircraft had high manoeuvrability, unpretentiousness, survivability and ease of control, they began to be actively used for military purposes, for example, for training combat pilots, as well as conducting high-altitude and tactical reconnaissance.

An important feature of the aircraft produced under this trademark is that the organisation has been manufacturing gliders and airplanes from composite polymer patented alloys almost from the first days of its existence. At the same time, most of the alloys used in the production of boards are manufactured by the company at its own production facilities, which are located in Germany. After mastering the country's defence market, the company continued to discover new horizons, and therefore developed and offered the customers high-comfort aircraft designed for use in business aviation. At the same time, it is worth noting that the Grob SPn business jet has become the most popular among customers.

We should note that to reduce the price of your flight, you can use such services as Jet Sharing or Empty Legs. In short, Jet Sharing allows you to buy the desired number of seats on a private flight and divide the full cost of a jet charter between all passengers. This means that you’ll have to pay only for the number of seats you’ve booked. Therefore, Jet Sharing is also known as “seat rental on a business jet”. As for Empty Legs, it is a system of return flights. Let’s say that the passenger booked a one-way flight to a specific destination. In this case, the chosen business jet returns to its home base empty. If you don’t need an urgent flight, you can leave us a request, our consultants will contact you as soon the desired jet will be available.

Characteristics and features of Grob business jets

At the beginning of this century, the company's management decided to develop and offer its own business jet for business aviation, which would allow it to enter this new market. As a part of the study of consumer interest, it was decided to create several models at once, namely, a turboprop and light model and a manoeuvrable aircraft with a jet engine. It was believed that the turboprop aircraft would be designed for cargo and passenger flights with the possibility of landing on small, poorly prepared runways, for example, a grass surface. As a result of the development and production, the following business jet models were offered to consumers:

  • G109. A lightweight turboprop two-seat aircraft, created from unique composite materials and capable of overcoming 1,500 kilometres without refuelling with an average cruising speed of 205 kilometres per hour. The aircraft is equipped with large observation windows, which allow the passengers to admire the beauty while sitting in a comfortable chair next to the pilot.
  • G 115. A multi-purpose model used both in the form of a training aircraft, a scout and in the form of a compact business jet for the rapid delivery of passengers over short distances. This model is capable of taking one passenger onboard and transporting him/her over a distance of 1,100 kilometres at a speed of 185 kilometres per hour. G 115 is made of composite patented materials like other models of this manufacturer.
  • G 116. Turboprop model developed by the company specifically for business aviation and made of modern composite materials. This aircraft is capable of taking up to 4 people on board, providing them with a comfortable flight over a distance of 1,200 kilometres with an average speed of 285 kilometres per hour.
  • G 160. A turboprop business jet made of composite materials and capable of carrying six passengers without intermediate refuelling at a distance of up to 4,000 kilometres. While in the air, it is capable of flying at an average cruising speed of 500 kilometres per hour.
  • GF 200. A light, manoeuvrable aircraft specially designed by German aircraft manufacturer for the needs of business aviation. Talking about this model, it should be noted that it is completely made of composite materials, and also has a fuselage of a unique shape. The business jet has compact dimensions and is capable of taking up to three passengers on board, carrying them over a distance of up to 2,600 kilometres without refuelling. While in the air, this aircraft is capable of moving at an average cruising speed of 445 kilometres per hour.
