Aircraft Features

The Boeing Business Jet is the product of a joint venture between Boeing and General Electric to create a high-performance aircraft. Introduced in 2001, the ultra-long-range BBJ2 has 25 percent more interior space and twice as much luggage space. In addition, dubbed the next-generation 737-800, the Boeing Business Jet 2 is 19.2 feet longer than the successful 737.

 

 

The aircraft is powered by two CFM56-7B27 turbofan engines developed by CFM International, a company created jointly by General Electric of the United States and Snecma of France. The engines are rated at 27,300 pounds of thrust. The wing's tanks hold 26,025 liters of fuel. Three to seven additional tanks from Georgetown, Delaware-based PATS, Inc. provide extra fuel to bring the total maximum fuel capacity to 39,531 liters.

The BBJ2 is capable of 180-minute extended range twin-engine operations (ETOPS), providing access to faster, more direct and shorter routes such as the Arctic or Himalayan regions.
