Aircraft Features

Pilatus Aircraft not without reason believe that PC-24 created a new niche - "segment of universal jets", because it combines the takeoff and landing characteristics of PC-12 (short takeoff and landing distances, including from unpaved runways) with the cabin volume, typical for midsize class, large cargo hatch in the rear of the fuselage and cruising speed of light jet aircraft.

The aircraft has a large cargo hatch in the rear of the fuselage. The nose strut will be equipped with a special deflector to prevent foreign objects from getting into the engines, and the flaps will be protected from damage by pebbles flying out from under the wheels.

The aircraft has a range of 3,300 km (2051 miles) and reaches a cruising speed of 786 km/h (or 488 mph) with six passengers on board. It is equipped with two pylon-mounted Williams FJ44-4A powerplants in the tail and a PC12-like large cargo door and an airtight, walk-in baggage compartment. The main advantages of this "off-road" aircraft will be its takeoff and landing characteristics allowing the plane to take off from a distance of 820 m (2690 ft) and landing distance will be 770 m (2526 ft). The PC24 landing gear is designed to fly from unpaved and grassy runways, allowing the Pilatus PC24 to be used in hard-to-reach and not developed infrastructure airports in all parts of the world.

Interior and cabin

The 14 m3 cabin will be 155 cm high, 170 cm wide and 700 cm long from the cockpit bulkhead to the rear hermetic bulkhead. The portholes will be the largest in the midsize class. Cabin pressure at a maximum flight altitude of 450,000 feet will be at 2,500 feet. At the front of the fuselage there will be a fully insulated lavatory.
