Aircraft Features

The Gulfstream V is a business jet manufactured by Gulfstream Aerospace. It is also used by the U.S. military under the designation C-37A. The G500 and G550 are improved versions currently in production. The Gulfstream G550 was formerly called the Gulfstream V SP (GV SP).

The Gulfstream V (also called GV) first flew in 1995, was certified in 1997, and was one of the first ultra-long-range (~6,000 nautical miles) business aircraft. Capable of carrying up to 16 people in a standard seating configuration and covering distances of up to 12,038 km.

Gulfstream V is a development of Gulfstream IV with a newly designed fuselage, lengthened by 2.13 m, which allowed 15-19 passengers to be accommodated in the cabin. The wing almost retained the shape of its predecessor, but increased its dimensions; as a result, the wing tanks' capacity increased by 10%. The tail area was also increased. The bulkhead of the cockpit was shifted to the tail by 0.30 m, making it more spacious.

The instrumentation was made as on the GIV-SP machine based on the Honeywell SPZ-8500 system using six multifunctional displays, a digital automated flight control system, and the Honeywell/Marconi ILS. Satellite communications made it possible to realize the "office in the sky" concept.

The 3rd zone is used as a master bedroom or office, which is closed by a door. Here most often either 2 sofas or a sofa and 2 armchairs are installed.
The Gulfstream GV saloon is 1.86 meters high, 2.22 meters wide and 15.27 meters long. Cabin length varies depending on the availability of a dedicated crew rest seat. If there is such a place, then the length of the cabin for passengers will be reduced by 1.5-2 meters, if there is no such place, then the cabin will remain as long as possible, but on long flights the crew will "rest" in the same cabin with the passengers.

Standard amenities include a full-size kitchen equipped for hot and cold cooking; a sink; numerous outlets for connecting office equipment; fold-out work tables; and separate toilets for passengers and crew.
